Episode 113 - October 5, 2022
Today on The Joy Curator Podcast we are starting a new series The Joy of Showing Up, Even When It’s Hard. On the show today, we are chatting with Lacey Fisher. Lacey is a heart led facilitator whose goal is to connect communities and individuals through conversation and awareness about the history of Indigenous peoples. She has worked in the corrections sector for the past 15 years, is a trained facilitator and is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan. She is a mother to three children, granddaughter to residential school survivors and a member of the Beardy’s & Okemasis Cree Nation. Her passion for raising awareness and understanding stems from the experiences her Moshum and Kokum endured as children. She believes that the lack of knowledge regarding the history of residential schools and the systemic racism in our society continue to be a barrier on the path towards Truth and Reconciliation. Although Lacey believes in creating safe spaces, she is not afraid to ask tough questions and set the stage for critical thought and examination. Join us with an open heart as we converse in this safe space and leave with a better understanding of intergenerational trauma and what we can do to be a part of truth and reconciliation.
