50 Things That Bring Me JOY

If you know me well enough, you will know that I would rather do anything than sell my soul, posting about products that I don’t even like. With all things new, as Spring approaches, there has been a lot of LEARNING for me in the past few months. I'm working on listening to my body, asking myself what type of person I want to be and how I want to show up in the world and letting that be the guide for the decisions that I make. This is HARD work, people! Life-changing, HARD WORK!
One thing I want to talk more about is how stress and over functioning steels our JOY.
For years, I've over functioned. I take on other people's stress as my own and try to be helpful, making sure everyone is okay. The problem I've run into is that I lost my ability to make sure that I was ok!
It's A LOT!
I'm learning that sometimes others will just be disappointed when I put my own needs first and I have to just be okay taking care of myself so that I have enough to give to others. Who knew?! The life lessons just keep coming over here, don't they?!
My current self-care go to are flights, as I work hard to lean into wealthy woman status, and live into my purpose and dreams with confidence, but seriously, I can't go on vacation every time I have a bad week. Right?!
I've been working on a list of 50 things that bring me JOY (that don't involve my regular hair color appointment with my stylist because, listen...that is a non-negotiable right now, right?!) I've found the brainstorming of this list super helpful and wanted to share it with you so that you can be inspired to create a list of your own.
50 Things That Bring Me Joy
Drinking a hot cup of coffee
Writing in my journal
Watching a movie
Going for brunch
Entertaining at home
Going out for lunch
Happy hour
Creating new cocktails
Going for a massage
Climbing into bed with fresh clean sheets
Laying in the sun
Laughing out loud at a funny memory
Eating charcuterie
Having time to decide what I feel like doing
Going for a walk (preferably on the beach!)
Eating a sweet treat
Browsing in a book/paper store
Watching Reality TV or a show that allows my brain to turn off
Getting rid of things I no longer need
Having my nails done
Planning a trip
Going out for dinner
Soaking in my hot tub
Seeing my girls walk through the door when they come home from school
Home spa treatments with my daughter
Singing in my car while driving
Cooking in the kitchen without having to rush
Looking at my big tropical plant in my office.
Dreaming up ideas for business with clients
Swimming laps with my daughter
Walking & Talking with my bestie
Writing things down & checking them off my list
Opening the pantry and it being filled with delicious snacks
Receiving letters in the mail
Good makeup days
Walking through home decor stores
Biting into a warm peanut butter cookie
Sun shining through the windows in the morning
A Hot shower
A clean house
Giving people compliments
Staying in a luxury hotel
Listening to a good podcast
Good wifi (LOL) but seriously…
Making someone smile or laugh
Spending quality time alone
Spending quality time with my girlfriends
Brunch! (add on a mimosa and I’ll be your friend for life!)
Experiencing a new AirBnB
A glass of wine paired with a beautiful conversation with a friend.
